Our philosophy

Our philosophy is that during the time your child shares with us, we encourage, nurture and excite the curiosity within us all.

We aim to be as flexible as possible, so you can keep a good balance between work and family life, and to create a homely environment where we all care for each other.

Parents as partners

We understand that leaving your child at nursery for the first time is a big event, and it can be a stressful and upsetting time for you and sometimes your child, so we try to make it as easy as possible. Our priority is to help you and your family feel welcome and relaxed.

No one knows your child better than you, so we encourage parents to be actively involved at Kings Farm, whether that's talking about your child with their key worker or volunteering to help with activities or outings. When parents and practitioners work together, it has a positive impact on the child.

Equal opportunities

We are committed to equality of opportunity, and everyone is made welcome. We make a conscious effort to develop each child's positive self-image, and we actively encourage children to value and respect people regardless of culture, faith, ability or gender.

Special educational needs

It is our policy that all children have the chance to take part in every activity we offer, whatever their abilities. A dedicated member of our team, our SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), makes sure this is possible.

If you feel your child's time at nursery or Kids Club could be improved with input from the SENCo, please talk to her or any member of the team, who will pass your concerns on. Our named SENCo is Allison Zachowicz.

Our team

Our practitioners are dedicated to improving their knowledge and skills and go on regular training. As a setting we are graduate-led, which brings greater knowledge and consistent practice.

Allison Zachowicz is our SENCo and Designated Safeguarding Lead, and Megan Spavins is our Deputy Manager.
