A room for every age
Each room is set up for a different age group, so your child always has the right care, space and activities as they grow.
Our practitioners are dedicated to improving their knowledge and skills, and they go on regular training. As a setting we are graduate-led, which brings greater knowledge and consistent practice across every room.
Babies and toddlers
Hedgehogs
Adult to child ratio: 1:3
Resources are carefully chosen to encourage and nurture your child's needs. We ask you to fill in a transition form so you can pass on everything you know about your child, and we follow your routine as closely as we can.
As your child becomes more mobile, we bring in sand, water, play dough and paint to widen their knowledge and understanding of the world.
2 years to school age
Buglins and Squirrels
Adult to child ratio: 1:5 in Buglins, though we keep to 1:4 where we can, and 1:8 in Squirrels
Buglins and Squirrels is our pre-school. Learning here is a little more structured and follows the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage), with activities based around each child's interests, knowledge and abilities.
With encouragement, we help children build confidence, independence and positive self-esteem, and we encourage every child to flourish as an individual.
To help with the move to school, we work closely with the local primary school. Our pre-school children go along to their sports day, nativity and summer picnic.
What to bring
- Nappies, wipes and creams, if your child uses them
- A coat and wellies for outdoor play
- A complete change of clothes, including underwear, in a named bag, for water play or accidents
- In summer, a named bottle of sun cream
We take every care to protect your child's clothes, but we can't be held responsible for any loss or damage.
